The station with total output of 254 MW was put into operation under the contract with Turkmenenergo State Power Corporation. The cost of the project is 218 mln USD. The station inclides two General Electric PG9171E gas turbine power plants each rated at 127 MW. It generates power for providing of being built Caspian Sea health resort, and of water demineralization plant with daily output of 35000 m3. Its water intake is carried forward to the sea up to 1.2 km. For water demineralization it is equipped with reversed osmose unit. The plant will provide pure water for the needs of Avaza health resort and Turkmenbashi city.
Avaza turistic area includes hotels, sanatoriums, aqua parks, attractions, yacht clubs, restaurants,campings, entertainment and trade centers, airport.
