Two cogeneration power plants were put into operation on the site of Minsk Construction Materials Plant. Each of them rated at 1165 kW was developed on the base of Caterpillar G3516 gas engine and SR4B electric generator with voltage of 10.5 kV. The plants are equipped with EMCP2 control system of 4th degree of automation. The plants have container design.
Exhaust gases are used for technological process of construction materials drying. The waste heat from engine cooling jacket, from oil and turbo-compressor cooling systems is also utilized. The plants operate on the base mode in parallel with power grid. Natural gas is the main fuel.
Power equipment was supplied by Zeppelin Weisrussland.

Siemens has been awarded contracts for the turnkey construction of two combined cycle power plants including long-term service agreements in India – UNOSUGEN and DGEN by Torrent Power Ltd. and Torrent Energy Ltd. respectively of Torrent Group based in Ahmedabad, India.

Siemens will erect the DGEN power plant in the Dahej on the southwest coast of the state of Gujarat. The DGEN power plant will comprise three combined cycle units and have a total installed capacity of 1,200 megawatts (MW). The UNOSUGEN combined cycle plant, which will have an installed capacity of approximately 400 MW, will be built in the vicinity of the city of Surat also in the state of Gujarat. In addition to turnkey construction, Siemens Energy will also supply the main components for the two plants – four SGT5-4000F gas turbines, four SST5-5000 steam turbines, four hydrogen cooled generators, and the entire electrical systems as well as the SPPA-T3000 instrumentation & control system.

Under the contract Siemens will supply eleven SGT-100 gas turbine pumping stations and five gas-generators of new type for up-dating of power equipment on oil pipeline of Caspian Pipeline Consortium. The plants are developed on the base of SGT-100 gas turbine with increased output of 5.7 MW and efficiency of 31 % (ISO). SGT-100 gas turbine has twin-shaft design for mechanical drive and single-shaft for power generation. Combustion chamber gives the opportunity to operate on two types of fuel: gas and liquid (distillate or refined oil. At present seven SGT-100 pumping plants and eight power plants are in operation on the pipeline route.

Sibirskaya Coal Power Company in cooperation with New Generation Russian-German joint venture is carrying out the project for the reduction of greenhouse gases emission. It is realized under Kuznetsk Basin Methane investment program.
The stations are developed on the base of NC 620К12 gas engine plant rated at 1 MW and two NC 616F16 plants each rated at 1.5 MW. The plants were manufactured and supplied by Pro2 Anlagentechnik GmbH (Germany). The stations use coalmine methane extracted from the mine named after Kirov in Lenins-Kuznetsky.
Total electric output of the station is 4 MW, thermal output is 2 MW. General designer for the project is Demeta GmbH.

The station was constructed under turn key contract by Energoteh Ltd. (Moscow). It consists of three Waukesha VHP5904GSID gas engine power plants rated at 1 MW each. They operate on base mode and generate electric power for the needs of field infrastructure. The main and auxiliary equipment of the station are installed in six all-weather containers.
The station is managed by control system developed by Energoteh on the base of EnergoSoft hardware-software complex. It gives the opportunity of remote control and monitoring of all operating parameters of the station.
The main fuel is casing-head gas (WKI index – 54). Gas treatment system is installed in separate container. The systems includes filter-separator for fuel gas purification, final filter, flow rate meter, and casing-head gas heating unit.

MAN Diesel & Turbo is increasingly expanding its business activities across the African continent. The company has received an order for two dual-fuel, large-bore diesel engines of type 18V51/60DF, including the electromechanical equipment for generating electricity, worth some Euro 13 million.

The systems are to produce more than 35 MW of electricity for the power grid in Libreville, the capital of Gabon, and thereby help stabilise the electricity supply. The customer is the Israeli power firm Telemenia Ltd., which is building the power plant for the Gabon government. It is set to go into operation in 2011. Since 2009, the engines and systems builder has supplied large-bore diesel engines and technical equipment for power generation worth around Euro 90 million to African countries such as Egypt, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Madagascar and the Cape Verde Islands.

Dual-fuel engines from MAN Diesel & Turbo can either be operated with liquid fuel or natural gas. In Gabon’s case particularly, this is a crucial advantage: the west African country has gas and crude oil reserves that can be used with modern MAN dual-fuel engines to produce energy efficiently. The primary source of fuel will be natural gas, but if there are any gaps in the supply, the engines can be switched over at any time to heavy fuel oil, diesel or bio-fuel.

The project was realized under the contract signed with Pechoraneft JSC. The power equipment was manufactured according to individual order by Mamins Volzhsky Diesel Plant. Power station consists of C3516G gas engine power plants and C3516 diesel plant each rated at 1 MW. Main fuel for gas plant is casing-head gas. C3516 diesel plant operates on diesel fuel. The plants are equipped with SR4B generators of Kato Engineering Inc. and ComAp control system. The station also includes Caterpillar C3412 and C18 emergency diesel generating sets rated at 640 and 480 kW correspondingly.
