IN BRIEF #4-2017

•    The model of evaluation of thermal condition of GTD-110 gas turbine first stage.
Overall performance of gas turbine for driving of electric generator and for other applications directly depends on the efficiency of the turbine and power plant on the whole. One of the main ways for increasing of power plant efficiency is rising inlet turbine gas temperature. For land based gas turbine the main parameter is components and units service life. Such components of hot gas path as blades and first-stage disc work in the most severe conditions. The easiest way to apply of high temperature of fuel gas before turbine is to use advanced materials for the components production.
•    Conversion of information in the system of friction pair wearing particles control on the base of the group of single-turn eddy-current sensing elements.
The article presents the initial stage of development of the system of friction pair wearing particles control in lubricating oil of power plants. The base of hardware support system is the group of single-turn eddy-current sensing elements. The article gives the analysis of specific aspects of electromagnetic interaction of metal particles and sensing elements loop. Recommendations for the selection of number and the form of sensing elements are given on the base of the analysis results. Methodology of information conversion gate calculation, including selection of parameters of operational amplifier and analog-to-digital converter are given by the authors. The article confirms the actual continuity of gas turbine engine friction units' diagnostics on the base of magnetic and non-magnetic particles control in the lubricating oil system during the operation of the engine.
•    Perm gas turbines: options for increasing of overhaul period.
With transition to the strategy of operation according to technical condition of the equipment numerous business models of gas turbine plants lifecycle cost management appeared on the market over the last 10-20 years. At the same time the main requirements of the customer of gas turbine plants remain the same. Among them are the following: reduction of maintenance costs and maximum time of being in operation. To meet these requirements with minimum expenses it is reasonable to increase overhaul period of gas turbine plants which have no components with limited cyclic life. To solve this problem is possible only by adoption of technologies for increasing of operation period of the plants.
•    Energas Group of companies – 10 years of work in fuel and energy complex.
During 10 years of work in the sphere of technological equipment for fuel gas conditioning Energas positioned itself as highly professional engineering corporation. Now it is the group of companies which cooperate under single branding for developing of the plants, production, delivery, commissioning and maintenance of modular plants and systems of gas conditioning for oil & gas complex, power engineering, machine-building, chemical and other branches of industry. Thorough knowledge and engineering responsibility for the quality of works became in the past years the main principle of the companies.
•    Total lubricants: high level of purity.
The one of the primary causes of equipment outages is ingress of contamination to lubrication oils. They have great impact to the service life of the components and units of the machine. Maintenance of high level of lubricants purity gives the opportunity to considerably reduce the number and time of expensive repairs of the equipment. The contaminations in lubricating oils can be external from ambient environment and internal connected with the work of the machine. The article presents solid contaminations, their influence to the service life of the equipment. It also describes the methods for maintaining of lubricants purity, services and special products which were developed by the specialists of Total. When using high-tech lubricating oils and plastic lubricant it is possible to considerable save funds, increase reliability, productivity and durability of operating equipment. The most frequently contaminations get into the lubricants because of their improper storage. That is why Total developed main requirements for lubricating oils storage.
•    Gas turbine characteristics in pipeline system models.
The subject of this paper is to summarize the main features and issues appeared during gas turbine modelling in applications of pipeline simulation. Synergy gas taken as a reference; this powerful simulation software is used in many major oil & gas companies on the Northern America and popular as well on the other continents. Virtually all pipeline applications for gas turbines employ two-shaft gas turbines. Increasing the speed and temperature of the gas generator provides the power turbine with gas at a higher energy (i.e., higher pressure, higher temperature and higher mass flow), which allows the power turbine to produce more power. If the power supplied by the power turbine is greater than the power absorbed by the load, the power turbine together with the driven compressor will accelerate until equilibrium is reached. The factors influencing the available power include the following: ambient temperature, pressure, turbine speed, inlet/exhaust pressure losses, fuel.
•    Gas Turbine In Situ Combustion Coating Technology (ISCC) developed by the KEPCO Research Institute (KEPRI).
The in situ combustion coating technology was developed in order to solve the above mentioned disadvantages of YSZ top coating. As the word «in situ» implies, this technology is featured by providing precursors into the combustion chamber of a running gas turbine to deposit coating residues on the hot-gas-path components during turbine operation. The in situ deposition method can provide additional and critical advantages originating from the very nature of the process. ISCC technology is economic and ecological because once it is equipped with a precursor feeder, the coating is done automatically by the virtue of energy and hardware of the gas turbine during operation. In principle, this technology resembles the method of combustion chemical vapor deposition (CCVD), in which oxide materials formed in the flame are carried onto the substrate to be coated.
•    Oil & Gas exhibition / MIOGE-2017.
14th international exhibition of oil & gas equipment and technologies was held in Moscow on 27th-30th of June in Moscow. This year it was organized on the new site – in Crocus Expo exhibition center. The exhibition has been held for almost 25 years now. Throughout this time, the exhibition has passed through various stages of development, but it has always been a vital platform for the industry, for oil experts, so the organizers have always been very pleased with the fact that they are supporting the industry, and they are aware of the responsibility that has been placed on them. The exhibition is a business platform used by manufacturers to sell their equipment or by other companies to select and purchase the equipment they need for the realization of their production or commercial projects. The exhibition's key goal is to offer its participants the opportunity to choose and purchase equipment, expand their marketing and business presence geographically, increase sales, and, generally speaking, find new clients. Typical visitors at the exhibition are, first of all, the specialists in the oil and gas industry, representing, as a rule, oil and gas producers, companies providing oil related services or project contractors that are an essential element of the exhibition.
•    Power-Gen Europe-2017.
XXV International Power-Gen Europe Conference and Exhibition, co-located with Renewable Energy World Europe, experienced a record number of more than 10,000 attendees across the three events over three days. This year's event has seen a great number of exhibitors. The event provided a clear picture that the European power market is changing and it is changing fast. The high number of attendees across all the events is a reflection of the industry's eagerness to discover the latest developments in business, technology and policy at a moment of such rapid change for power generation. It's an exciting time to be working in such an innovative industry and it has been great to see professionals from every sector of the power sector come together to discuss the challenges that they face and how they can work together to meet these. Many speakers on various sessions of the conference explained that a new era has dawned across the European energy market and a deep transformation is underway. Renewable energy technologies such as smart grids have proven to significantly increase energy efficiency and companies on a global scale are beginning to invest heavily in their development.
