RusHydro completes construction of the first stage of Yakutskaya GRES-2 in the Far East.

PJSC RusHydro announces that construction of the first stage of gas-fired Yakutskaya GRES-2 is now completed. The facility’s key equipment has undergone comprehensive testing; the plant was cleared to start commercial operation.

Currently, Yakutskaya GRES-2 is in operation and supplies electricity to the central power system of Yakutiya (Sakha), and heat to consumers of Yakutsk. Facility’s electric capacity is 193 MW, heat generation capacity – 469 GCal/h including peaking hot-water boiler-house. The station consists of four GE Energy LM6000 gas turbine power plants, four KUV-38.1-185 waste-heat boilers supplied by Krasny Kotelshchik (Power Machines PJSC). The new unit should substitute capacity of the retiring Yakutskaya GRES, create capacity reserve and increase reliability of supply.Yakutskaya GRES-2 (1st stage) is one of four priority projects in the Far East of Russia implemented in accordance with the Decree of the President of Russia.
