The largest wind energy complex in the Volga Federal District is being built in the Samara region.

The complex will include a Civil wind park (22 wind turbines), Pokrovskaya wind park (19 wind turbines) and Ivanovskaya wind park (11 wind turbines). The parks will start supplying electricity to the wholesale electricity and capacity market in the fourth quarter of 2022. The Wind Energy Development Fund (a joint investment fund of Fortum and Rusnano companies) acted as an investor in the construction of a wind parks with total electric output of 236.6 MW. To implement the project the site of the Krasnoarmeysky district was chosen near the rural settlements of Krivoluchye-Ivanovka and Grazhdansky in 70 km from Samara. Currently on-site roads are being laid on the construction site, the foundations of wind turbines are being laid.
